Florence.

Beautiful Florence has always been a lively city of art, culture, interaction, innovation: there is nothing to do, as time passes its immense charm only increases.

June 15th  the seventh edition of the Florence Design Week opened with the theme “Design United

The opening party, organized on the terrace of the Grand Hotel Minerva, in the center of the city, kicked off a series of events until June 19th.

A beautiful view of Florence from the rooftop terrace of Grand Hotel Minerva.

The theme “Design United” was chosen by Immaginae, a communications agency that was responsible for organizing the event. The company aims to unite all independent but linked worlds that belong to the term “design”: from fashion to art, to new establishments for living.

With Florence Design Week, the city came to life with exhibitions, workshops, conferences, cocktails and installations. Many events have been created specifically for the occasion, and many others were those already present and valued for their importance.

Among the many things that I have had the pleasure of seeing, I want to show the work of the architect Daniel Libeskind called “Florence Blossom” which, with a tribute to the city, interprets Salvatore Ferragamo “Parfums” the fragrance of life.

Daniel Libeskind, known for its ability to create architecture that was able to evoke deep cultural memories, in this installation made of paths and mirrors, color and quotes, brings out the soul and the heart of Florence.

Libeskind’s work, through his sensibility, recreates the typical characteristics of Florence: the alleys, the open spaces of the sky between buildings, the hidden corners, doors, walls.

In Florence, as in Libeskind’s work, this is the life, it’s the perfume of life.

An installation, in my opinion, that is exceptional and allows interaction and reflection evoking an almost metaphysical atmosphere.

It is wonderful to see how people, outside a place of  reality, can read and redraw the same place according to their personal vision, expressing  the amenities and features in their own style, that for centuries and centuries have fascinated everyone who visits the city.
