We’re almost there, what is coming is not to be missed: I’m talking about the Salone del Mobile and other similar events (FuoriSalone).
During Milan Design Week 2017 all of Milan is alive with events and initiatives that revolve around the world of design from the 4th to 9th of April. Innovation, luxury, and creativity are the keywords of this 56th edition.
Among the wide variety of scheduled options that are offered to us during our favorite week, I decided to select five events from the FuoriSalone that I think are interesting, stimulating, and open to all!
Here they are:
Tom Dixon – Galleria Manzoni (Brera zone) – April 4th to 9th
The British star and designer comes to Milan with his exhibit ‘Multiplex – Yesterday Today Tomorrow’ to present his new collection in 2017, and some new editions of his historical pieces.
The concept store Salvioni Milano – Via Durini 3, Milan (San Babila zone) – April 4th to 9th
A concept store dedicated to the home, located in a historic building in Milan from the beginning of 900. A real show-room atmospheres for the home. For the occasion of the Salone del Mobile, it will be open every day to meet people and serve cocktails.
A Matter of Perception – Palazzo Litta, Corso Magenta 24 (zone 5 Vie) – April 4th to 9th
An exhibition that focuses on the elective affinities that develop between designers, companies, and workshops, with the theme “Linking Minds”.
BLoft by Gum Design “Casa dello Zecchiere”, Via Bollo 3, Milan (zone 5 Vie) – April 4th to 9th
An exhibition project, created and directed by Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi, which will bring together companies, craftsmen, architects, and designers under the common denominator of self-production.
Superdesign Show – Superstudio Piu, Via Tortona 27, Milan – Superstudio 13, Via Forcella 13 / via Bugatti 9, Milan (Tortona) – from April 4th to 8th
A 17,000 square meter exhibition divided into two separate areas, where there are the big names in design that complement emerging talents and students from around the world.
Then let’s not forget the main event: the Salone del Mobile, the event that everything else revolves around. It’s the place where the largest and most established companies in national and international contemporary design will exhibit their products and novelties. And then my favorite of all: the Salone Satellite, where you can enjoy the great work of young emerging designers from around the world! – Rho Fiera Milano – Open to the public on the 8th and 9th of April.
