I have always said that a mix of classic and modern, if tastefully done, can give magnificent results in terms of aesthetics. We are talking about beauty, the type of beauty that can be achieved when designing with taste. I’ll show you what I mean, this design of an interior, more specifically a kitchen, that is part of a Parisian apartment.
This project has minimized the overall look of a kitchen, making the cabinets seem to “disappear” into space.
The back wall, is in fact characterized by sliding panels which, once closed, hide the appliances and cupboards.
The focus is clearly on the central island of the kitchen, characterized by an ultra-minimal design. The counter top itself is incredibly thin just a few centimeters, and it includes the sink, hob, and all of the necessary electrical connections.
The skill used to obtain this minimal environment was maximum.
What I really like about this project, apart from having designed and built an almost invisible kitchen, is the visual impact characterized by a combination of different styles.
The most important element of the room, namely the island, has a very modern design – an essential slim and polished line, which characterises the modern style.
In addition, the deep black colour , pure and intense, which contrasts perfectly with the natural wooden floors and the white walls of the room which are enriched by decorative plaster work that gives it a more classic mood.
The combination of these elements, as you can see, works perfectly.
The key feature of this successful project is the fact that the entire space is homogeneous and interrupted only with one contrasting element, and for this reason it becomes the center of the room.
