Aqua Tower by Studio Gang Architects
With 82 floors and 184 936 square meters of floor area, Aqua Tower is one of the few skyscrapers in the world that creates a real community within its facade. It contains a hotel, apartments, condominiums, parking lots, offices and one of Chicago’s largest green roofs.
This multipurpose tower demonstrates incredible architectural and technical achievements.
The outdoor terraces form the characteristic wavey form of the tower. Superb! The terraces differ in shape and form from one floor to another, giving different views, different aspects of sunlight and different shapes for the homes and apartments. In addition the terraces create a strong connection with the surrounding space of the city.
Aqua Tower has won numerous architectural awards, including the Honour Award, Distinguished Building, AIA Chicago Skyscraper of the Year award, The Emporis and the PETA ‘Proggy’ award.
