Have you ever heard of the “luster” technique?
“Il lustro (luster)” is an artisan process that gives us shiny and mirrored metal finishes, giving us the glamorous and elegant touch that we like so much!
From a technical point of view, I can say that “il lustro” is obtained by applying a metal-based dough on the surface of a ceramic product that is already cooked and decorated, which is then baked again. This cooking process is done in an oxygen-free atmosphere to make the metal salts turn into pure metals, and the particles are incorporated into the enamel, softened by heat, thus causing this polished effect.
Not to be left to the imagination alone, I’ve found a whole collection of lamps inspired by this high-quality manufacturing process, using precious metals such as 24-karat gold, 22-carat platinum, and copper.
The collection is called “Illustri” and I was particularly impressed by “Illustri L4” and “Illustri L11”.
So let’s take a closer look at them, what do you say?
“Illustri L4” is a product of sinuous, contemporary design, but at times it can reflect a classic taste. This is a suspended lamp that I find perfect for many areas of the house: from the dining area to the bedroom, from the entranceway to the hallway; with this product, we can indulge and position it anywhere we like!
“Illustri L11” is a versatile desktop lamp. Absolute contemporary design: simple lines, but of great taste. It is a product that can be combined with any kind of style and placed in any kind of environment, and it always finds the way to enrich a room with perfection.
In addition, I have chosen to show you the “Illustri” line because, besides being aesthetically and qualitatively composed of almost perfect products, if you decide get some pieces, you need to know that there is a wide range of finishes to choose from and customize! Here are some of the finishes:
What do you think about it? Did you already know about this technique? Do you like it? Which lamp do you like the most? Which one would look good in your house? If you want advice, always remember that you can ask me here in the comments! I will be happy to help you 🙂
